If you want the bottom line, this product is the only thing that calmed my cats’ anxieties and crazy behaviors.Hear the details - I have two great cats who were both once feral. They are males who have been neutered, but they are still very rowdy boys! One of them in particular used to meow throughout the night and go on zoomies all over the place - climbing my door posts etc. I tried the calming plug-ins for cats, hemp chews , other calming chews- they wouldn’t need any of them and even Rescue Remedy for pets that helped to a lesser extent but not totally. Then I read a couple of reviews that said FeraPet might help. One tip- -giving them the recommended dose gave them runny poop at first, so I cut back and gave them very small sprinkles, gradually increasing the dose and that worked well. Even now I give them a little less than the dose that they could take because they’re both REALLY big cats.I saw very small changes at first, but within two weeks all of their nighttime roaming and meowing and indoor post climbing had stopped. They are finally calm and are truly different cats! I highly recommend!
All three cats love it. They have been eatting the same amount since adding this in. Will buy again
I use this for my cats and my dogs. The cats don't seem to notice whether it is there or not, but the dogs love it! The "dosage" is relatively small when compared to the amount you get, so this should last a long time (going on 2 months and only half used). I was worried about g.i. side effects, because my dogs are sensitive to food changes (Frenchies...iykyk), but we have had no issues at all in either the cats or dogs. Between this and salmon oil, our pups' skin concerns have all but dissapeared and we haven't had a bacterial or yeast infection since we started adding this! Dosing is simple.
We foster kittens & were dealing with ringworm (a fungal infection) for months amongst the 8 cats & kittens in my home. Ringworm is a pain in the butt for the human caretakers (all that cleaning!!). It’s also contagious to humans (I got it on my FACE right before we hosted Thanksgiving!!). And the cats were miserable too, scratching themselves to the point of bleeding. I came to the realization that the only kittens, cats, & human that ended up with ringworm had been on antibiotics of some sort (oral or eye drops) within the previous 3 months. That made a lot of sense to me because every time I take antibiotics I get a fungal infection (ladies, you know what I’m talking about!). So in an effort to stop the back & forth spread of ringworm infection, I thought I’d try supplementing the cats/kittens with probiotics. The vet had given the Purina probiotics to one of my previous foster kittens for his diarrhea, but it’s $30 for five packets, which is literally 5 days worth for one cat. I can’t afford that on an ongoing basis since there are so many cats in my home (I must sound crazy lol,) but when I found this product & saw all the positive reviews I figured it couldn’t hurt.First off, I was REALLY surprised that every cat ate their food after I had sprinkled on the probiotics. Even Bella ate it, & she doesn’t eat anything (I call her Little Miss PickyPants.) I suggest not mixing it into their food until you k ow whether or not your animal will eat it. Previously, I had made a Tupperware full of cat food & sprinkled in some Lysine, which is supposed to help their immune systems. However er, NONE of my cats would touch it, & I wasted a LOT of money because it was the “good stuff” that they usually love!I’m happy to report that these probiotics are making a difference! The ringworm has cleared up, their fur has grown back, & I haven’t seen any new lesions! The kittens I receive to foster are often sick & on antibiotics, so from now on I will ALWAYS make sure to put these probiotics in their food, whether they’re sick or not!! It’s so well priced that I can even use it preventatively on ALL the cats/ kittens, & not just when they’re on antibiotics. I’m very pleased with this purchase—- it’s a great product at a great price!!
Kitties will eat a little mixed into their food. Not the whole scoop but it has worked miracles with my itchy kitty. She is great now. No more scabs
May have saved my cat's life last year. Really bad lung infection.
Good stuff, our cats love the probiotic powder (I mix it in their food) and the salmon oil helps with hair balls!
It's helped my old dogs digestive issues. I'll be ordering it again
I mix this with my dogs food and it’s helped to keep her very regulated and firm up her poop. No tummy issues.
I love this powder. Gives my cats & dogs better poops. It dissolves quickly & completely when mixed with canned food. It appears to be tasteless because they don’t seem to notice it. I’ve been buying this for years.
be careful not to let any moisture in the container
I give this to both of my cats, but it has been especially helpful to my one cat, Fern. Fern has always had dry poops, terrible breath (like death), and in the past two years, she has shown elevated kidney markers. I read that poor dental health can cause bacteria to damage the kidneys and decided to try her on a probiotic for this reason. We just re-did her renal bloodwork and her numbers have improved, not to mention her breath doesn't smell as bad her breath and her poops look normal and not extraordinarily dry. Will keep her on this probiotic for life!
This is an updated review. Its been almost 30 days. I have noticed my dogs skin has improved alot, there's a major decrease in itching and chewing paws. Less acid reflux and they're paws have almost completely lost that yeast smell of corn chips. All of my dogs love it and I love it. It works! Be patient. However I must say that this product has improved the quality of my dogs life and mine also. I wish I found this product sooner. Do yourself a favor and order this for your dog's. You will not regret it.
This probiotic has been really helpful for my dogs. They both have sensitive stomachs and used to have diarrhea pretty frequently, but since I started giving them this probiotic, I’ve noticed a big improvement in their digestion and their stools have been much more consistent. It has worked really well for us, especially during times when their stomachs are more sensitive. I’m very happy with the results and would definitely recommend it to other dog owners dealing with digestive sensitivity.
Love the idea and concept but cats can taste it soThey would not eat the food fast as they normally do. Would not buy again.
I am giving this 4 stars because, while I'm almost 100% sure it's working, there is always room for "coincidence". I have been giving this product to my cat since 2021 when I first noticed issues with her stool (mainly too hard - small pieces). She's 17 1/2 now and, for the most part, her stool has been regular (formed logs, but not too firm). I have never given her a full dose at once (1/2 scoop). I mix into her wet food a little less than 1/8 of a teaspoon each time I feed her (she gets about 4 - 5 small meals throughout the day - she's the scarf and barf type). Too much seems to cause soft stool. She either doesn't notice it's in the food or she likes the taste. The powder itself has no smell - to a human. I do have to store the jar in a plastic bag, as the humidity causes it to start to look grainy.
My 12yo kitty suddenly came down with diarrhea. I’ve had many cats in my life, but I’ve never had one do this. After a few days we realized something might be really serious, so we go to the vet. $375 later and a lot of blood a fecal tests, the only thing they found was our $375. We went home with probiotic capsules to sprinkle on his food (which he wouldn’t eat), vitamin B tablets and a tube of some gross crap to squirt in his mouth; cat went through hell. Seven days later we’re back at the vet. We were prescribed another tube of that crap and an and an offer of an ultra sound for $755. Another 7 days gone, the cat isn’t eating much, he’s dropped weight, and now I’m thinking we’re facing an ultrasound and a really hard decision. A few days later this cat was throwing up anything he tried to eat. Okay, another $755 it is. You now what they find? Our wallet and that’s all, nothing else. We were facing spending the summer watching our kitty tick down slowly while we force fed him pills, etc. I began searching the internet through hundreds of products. This one caught my eye when I saw the 4 1/2 star reviews, then started reading them. The repeated claims that the cat wouldn’t taste it was the key. I ordered it and received it the next day (thanks to Amazon) and fed it to him the next day with his delectable; he loved it. He started nibbling his food the next day, and little by little, he ate more. A miraculous 4 days later he was racing around the house like nothing ever happened. It’s been a little over 2 weeks and he’s fine. He’s happy, we’re happy, and we’re pretty sure he’ll be with us a while longer. It’s worth a try before they suck every penny you have to try this first. This stuff just saved my cat.
I was introduced to Fera Pets through my Realtor, who shared that her daughter is a veterinarian and the founder of the brand. After hearing about the company and its mission, I decided to do my own research and started with their probiotics.I’ve always wanted an English bulldog, and when I finally rescued mine, I made a commitment to do everything I could to give him a better life. He came from a broken home where he was misunderstood, and it was important to me to make sure he felt safe, healthy, and well cared for.At the time, I had recently rescued two English bulldogs with several health concerns, including recurring ear infections and persistent bad breath. Within about two weeks of using the probiotics, I noticed a significant improvement in their overall condition. Encouraged by the results, I added other products to their routine, including the hip and joint supplement, multivitamins, and a calming formula. The change has been noticeable. Their energy levels have improved, their breath is no longer an issue, and the ear infections have nearly resolved. They now behave more like healthy, active dogs. I also have a 14-year-old dog who has shown increased mobility and energy since starting these supplements.I have also started my cats on the same line, and they have responded well so far. The thought of losing any of my pets would be devastating, not just for me but for my entire family, so investing in their health is something I take seriously.I have tried many different supplements over the years, and the results with Fera Pets have been more consistent than anything else I’ve used.Thank you!!!
I really can't say that I KNOW that it is benenficial. I have owned 3 dogs of the same breed, and 1 never got this suppliment, while the other 2 daily took it in their food. I do know that the dog that I never gave it to, years ago, was not as bright and healthy in his coat and skin, or body, and had chronic digestive issues. These other two dogs that have been getting this ever since they were little, have no skin or allergy issues, and gut health seems to be excellent. I also feed them a very careful healthy diet. That is by no means a scientific experiment, since one was not a well bred dog and recieved a different diet, and the others have extremely superior breeding and a very careful diet. So...Neither dog that use this indicated that there was an off-putting taste. Both dogs had/have (regular healthy poops and digestion as in no diarrhea or gassiness). Both dogs have beautiful glossy coats, no dander, and no skin allergy issues. The vet always raves over their over-all health and beauty. One of these 2 dogs always had really bad breath, while the other always has fresh breath (both have excellent oral health)- the vet says that is simply a difference in dogs. So, there certainly isn't any harm in the Prebiotics, and I BELIEVE in the power of prebiotics, so I continue to purchase for my pets.I don't know how to answer to durability - I have put some premixed food in the freezer, and there seemed to be no ill effects. Ingredients is rather the same answer - I believe that they are helping, but that's not very scientific. In short - I researched for a product that had certain ingredients that were agreed on, across the board, as being very beneficial to dogs, and I found them in this product. I have purchased it for many years now, and intend to continue to use this product.
If you don’t know what megacolon is, and your cat is super constipated, it’s an often fatal condition that can usually only be cured with surgery if you are not given other alternatives like this. From PetMD: “Megacolon in cats can cause devastating health consequences as the colon fills with old, hardened feces, and the colon is not strong enough to pass the “cemented stool.”It’s a HORRIBLE condition and extremely painful as a cat is trying to poop hard fecal matter. It also caused our cat senior Chloe to have very oily looking fur which I’d never seen before but is supposedly common with sick cats. We took Chloe to the vet who showed us a disturbing x-Ray showing fecal matter packed in Chloe’s colon that was half as long as her entire body! He then recommend that he keep her overnight and give her an enema, which of course we agreed to. The enema alone almost killed her. She was lethargic for two weeks afterwards and, worst of all, the vet charges were over $400, but the procedure did nothing to help with her constipation! We did two things ON OUR OWN that made the issue disappear, and they will both be required on an ongoing basis for as long as she’s alive.1) We had to do our own research and WE had to ask the same vet to prescribe the ONLY kind of food that a constipated cat should eat - Royal Canin Gastrointestinal DRY cat food. It’s expensive but an 8.8 lb bag lasts a pretty long time with one cat. We give one scoop (3/4 cup) per day along with a tiny bit of wet food in the morning because she’s used to it, but more importantly because it hides the daily probiotics that I need to get into her. But the bulk of her diet is DRY. I would never recommend a strictly dry cat food diet, but this gastrointestinal food is all a cat really needs. It’s that good.2) We started using this FERA probiotic powder after trying several other products that either she would not eat or just didn’t work. I wish we started with this one! It’s super fine flavorless powder that I put in a tiny bit of wet cat food each morning. (She eats that first and THEN I give her more.) It comes with a little plastic scoop. I read in one place to give a whole scoop of powder but in another place to give a half scoop, so I started with a half scoop, and it worked so well that I never advanced to the full scoop. The probiotics didn’t work right at first, but I was persistent, and discovered that the longer I used it, the bigger her poops got. It’s been a good 2.5 months now. Chloe is much more energetic, and her poops are, well, massive. Lol. And her fur is back to normal! She’s healed, and I’m 100% certain that she was on her deathbed before we started administering this. I will never stop buying these probiotics as we are extremely grateful and relieved that we didn’t lose our Chloe.I hope this helps someone out there! And FYI, I’m very skeptical of reviews because I never know what’s legit or not, but I’m a normal mom/grandma that is retired and living in the Sierra foothills. I rely on Amazon for almost everything short of food, and I’ve made a few regretful purchases along the way. This is not one of them!
